M_C_swift 03-19-2003, 09:10 PM i was driving on the highway yesterday and i heard a sound like a small rock hitting the windshield. i'm not sure if it was a rock or not but when i looked closely i noticed a crack in the ws. how much is a new one and how quickly should i replace it. its not all the way across. its about 8 inches starting frome about halfway up the passenger side appeler Thrillseeker197 03-20-2003, 10:33 AM insurance will usually replace it for free.....call your insurance co. I paid my $250 deductable, and I got a nice new winsheild for my NX, replete with a 6 inch wide tinted strip at the top. It looks nice, and not many other NX's have it. Up here, most of the auto glass co's will cover your deductible but insurance co's will only cover you so many times. My practice over the last few years has been to replace the windshield just before selling... My Tacoma's windshield has three separate cracks in it - all occured one right after the other. I'm glad I didn't replace it after the first or second crack. M_C_swift 03-20-2003, 10:14 PM thats a pretty funny story about your friend's ass. i hope it got cut up so he had some rectal bleeding. that would be even funnier. i'll call insurance tomorrow. the crack has taken a turn and right where the crack meets the part of the w/s that gets wiper action, it takes a 90 degree turn up and it seems to have stopped moving (cracking) it hasn't advanced for a day and a half.
