I see that the SR16 has taller 1-5 gears and a taller FD. Now i know there's more acceleration to be had with a 2L by either using this tranny, or using either some gears in conjunction with the SR20 FD, or by using the SR16 FD.
I think that ther tranny should be one of the first things modd'd for speed. I put a 4.929 FD in my type arrrrrrr, and it felt like night and fuggin' day!!! It went from fast to FFFFAAAASSSSTTTTTTTTT. of course now i cruise the interstate at 70 at 5k, and the overall mph in each gear have declined, but it was well worth it, at least for my civic.

the sr16 actually has shorter gears and they are closer in conjunction. the final drive is also shorter. this is for an engine which has not so much torque. it is what it is and if you want one get it. its like a type r tranny for a honda.

So far the best accelerating ratios are found in the QR's 6spd tranny. It would make all 1-5 shorter so topspeed would be alittle lower. That is assuming you had enough power to go faster than 145mph.
