Does anyone know if the airbag light will go off if I unplug the control unit by the ECU? Or will I have to break down, tear apart the dash, and pull the bulb out?

I am glad you posted this. I need to know as well and had forgotten about removing the piece by the ECU.

If I remember correctly you will have to unplug the bulb, disconnecting at the ECU won't do it because it doesn't close the airbag circuit.

yeah, i think that the airbag control unit has its own reset switch under the center console.

Well Rittmeister it looks like one of us will just have to try and see. I plan on removing the stuff by the ecu just for weight reduction anyway.
