: Used Zex 55 Shot for the first time!
jamse-r 03-29-2003, 09:35 PM Well I used it for the first time today, well actually several times today. I thought 30hp we feel different. I used it three times today. Once in each gear, 1st, 2nd, and 3rd. I just thought it would have thrown me in my seat but it didnt. Dont get me wrong, I hit 90mph each time like it was nothing. I thought I would have been content with just the 55 shot, but I am NOT at all.
I have a bottle heater, and my bottle pressure was reading about 850, and I am also using the BKR6 gapped at .30.
Do you guys think it is because the Zex only kicks in at WOT that the transition is so smooth? I was hoping for a pegged in your seat feeling, oh well I am I am just going to have to hook up the G-Tech to see my improvements.
AaroNX 03-30-2003, 12:20 AM The pressure on mine is well over 850 and I have mine on a switch, but you can really feel my 65 shot.
FastRedB14 03-30-2003, 02:22 AM personally i feel my 35shot nx kit is pretty damn noticable. i do have a heater and when i get it closer to 1000 it really moves. but you can't expect to be thrown in your seat with a 14 sec car.
jamse-r 03-30-2003, 08:46 AM Thanks guys, I feel a little better, don't get me wrong, the car hauls ass. The speedometer looks like it is going as fast as the tach. I just feel this car can handle so much more power. I felt totally in control.

Nitrous PSI should be around 900 to 1050. At least for my NX kit anyways.
I have no heater and no gauge BUT......

I have mine gapped at .035
Im using the BKR7E.
I used my BKR6E at first but they turned real BLACK REAL QUICK. My BKR7Es stay a nice shade of kick-ass light greyish.
AaroNX 03-30-2003, 12:29 PM I just got a couple sets of the bkr7e's figgy, I was wondering what to gap them at. Thanks I'll start there. Are you running them all the time or just at the track? The other night at the track I had my pressure close to 1200. IT was pulling like a BIOTCH!!!

If your using a 55 shot where did you get 30hp? Its more like 45-50hp to the wheels. You need to let your bottle get up to pressure before spraying it (950-1050psi). Also make sure the nozzle in the intake is pointing the right way (towards the throttle body). I dont know about you but my 55 shot pulls like hell! No matter who hooked it up double check EVERYTHING. I had the same problem as you until I let my bottle heat up.

You can disable the themo switch on the NOS' bottle heater fairly easily.
By all means GET A BOTTLE HEATER if you don't have one. It only takes about 20min to get your bottle up temp, even in 50 degree weather like we get sometimes in California at night.
Run all DRY around 900-950psi, and wets arond 1000psi for best results.
I can feel 35hp with a NX kit at 1000psi very well. In fact on one car I put a kit on, we did almost 50hp at 1000psi 35hp jets and 65hp at 1000psi with 50hp jets.
Automatic Neon, gains would be higher on a stick car.

Hope you bought some slicks Fig.. here's why.
50hp on a normal street car is worth 7.8 tenths. Ive seen as much as 1.2-1.3 when using slicks and the same hp level.
75hp is about 1.2-1.5 seconds drop and Ive seen 1.6-1.8 drop on slicks.
If you run 14.0's, 50hp shot on slicks should allow you to bypass the 13's on your second pass. Maybe your first if you nail the launch and shifting.
75hp shot should be right down in the mid to low 12's...
Like I said in a earlier post 2500+lbs, 160hp+100hp on the bottle and slicks resulted in 12.4@106. You have a lighter car with slightly less power. You should run around that same time with only 75hp.
