OK, I know this is a lot of stuff to ask but here goes... I have the classic intake cam (to be installed next weekend). Is there a budget exhaust cam I can get and drop into an otherwise internally stock, american- spec sr20de. I've read that you can get away with even more agressive tuning on the exhaust cam, Yes/No? where can i get an intake cam from the classic se-r's ??

I got mine from Courtesy Nissan in Texas. (1800-527-1909) for like 190 shipped with the extra little rubber gaskets you need to replace too.

If you want an exhaust cam also, why dont you just go ahead and save up and order JWT s4's? Seems sensible to me. If you get the ecu tell them what cams oyu have and they can make a cam specific ecu.

yeah u might be right. but i like the idea of oem cams. even if its meant for another iteration of the car. plus i've already go the 91 intake. Thanks

You don't need a different JWT ECU for the early model cams. I have an exhaust cam I might try out and see if it adds any power. Hell my car can't get any slower( unless I add an automatic tranny).

what i meant was that they might program the ecu differently with the swapped cam (or cams hopefully). wtf is wrong with your car anyway? if you dont mind saying, what kind of exhaust cam is it? lemme know how the cam test goes if you do it ok?

I don't think the exhaust cam changed from 91-99. Only the intake cam kept shrinking.

The JWT ECU that was sent to me has the S3/S4 cam program, and since I don't have the cams, it's hurting the power. The exhaust cam was changed slightly in '95. Since I have one of the "slow ass '96s", this might help me.

Eric, are you sure the exhaust cam was changed? Which spec was changed on it? Sounds interesting...

I'll look in my FSMs tonight and see what changed. I think it was just the duration, and maybe some of the lift.

What I was referring to really was an exhaust cam from a JDM (BB SR20)motor or something. There is an exhaust cam on the nisknacks site for the SR20 under the JUN section (lift-lash type)will that work? but ive heard JWT has one also. I've never heard of a change in exh. cam specs any time 91-98. The exhaust cam lobes on the '92s have a height of 37.920-38.110 and the '96s are37.550-37.740. The intake cam lobe is 38.408-38.598 for '92s and 37.920-38.110 for '96s these are all in (mm). There isn't much of a difference, but there is some. The valve lift is the same, but the duration might be more.

I'm confused. If the lobes are different, how can the valve lift be the same? Is the above height spec from the FSM were you measure the cam for acceptable wear, or is that the spec for a new cam?
