flexpipe=secondary right? if so, why dont they have one?

I thought it came with a black secondary pipe, but I dont remember if it had a flexi thing built in. It should though.

I have a hotshot header and just took a long drive (26 hours round trip) and now my flex pipe is buzzing way worse than it had before (which is popular according to my searches).. piece of shit.

hotshot uses a flexpipe and pacesetter uses a ball in socket joint, that is how pacesetter keeps their costs down, same with paint instead of ceramic coating.

would it be worth it to get one built into a pacesetter?

what exactly does a flex pipe do? I personaly think they both work the same. I'm satisfied with my pace setter, and do like it better than a flex pipe design, which seems to wear away easily since it's not exactly solid.

it allows for engine/exhuast movment when you apply gas the engine moves in the mounts. it allows the top of the header to move so not to bend the exhuast

is it worth getting a secondary installed on a pacesetter?

Huh? The Pacesetter comes with a primary and a secondary with flex-joint.

What are you asking?

Your right, the pacesetter does not have a flex pipe, it has the ball joint instead. It comes in 3 parts.
4-2 pipe to 2-1 pipe to first part of ball joint to send part of ball joint to cat.

I think i said that right:confused:

and is a ball joint better than an actual flexpipe?

I highly doubt it, but I don't really know much. I think I heard somthing about them breaking.

No, but it is much cheaper. Earlier GM's and Honda's possibly recent models as well have a similiar flex joint, but they are much beefier and allow for a donut seal to be used to seal off the joint. Pacesetter is too small to use a donut. (Already tried)

OK, Im buying a *MESH* flex pipe from JCWhitney Rice Incorporated to take place of my ball-joint.

I have had mine for about maybe 2.5 yrs and its got a little hole at the ball-joint that makes it REALLY loud. I cant complain though. I HIGHLY ABUSE my car everyday!!

The MESH flexpipe is like $34. Not a bad deal.

Loud is when you have it monkeyed on there and it sounds likea rocket :p So figgy what do you do just weld the flex pipe peice instead of the ball joint? like cutting it off?

Thats what Im going to do. Just cut off the BALL-JOINT and weld the "funk master" FLEX in its place.

I've had my HS header for 4 years now. Other than the normal cracking at the 4-2 joint, no problems. No leaking, no buzzing.
