i've noticed this for a while....like when my trans shifts into overdrive....it'll shift AGAIN.....like there's another gear there. at first, i didn't think anything of it...but i started paying attention to how many times it shifts. could it be like the torque converter or something??? thanks

I have always only felt 4 gears

Yup....lock up torque converter. Like a 5th gear...sorta. Little more complicated than that ***. But it does drop the rpms say....~300 or more. So guess you could almost call it another gear. But the torque converter goes from a liquid coupleing to the engine to locked which is more like a solid connection

so there's nothing wrong with it?
