who is using the aquamist system? what are the merits of using the aquamist w/ the JWT ecu versus the aquamist alone? how much does the aquamist and JWT ecu cost? sorry for all the questions, ive searched and anymore info and opinions would be appreciated.

I am not using the aquamist system just yet but I do have the program on the ECU. The ECU is expensive from what I have heard. It is the same price as if you were doing NOS from JWT. Water injection is just like insurance. It is a great thing to have but it is not needed. I am not sure about using this system alone, but with JWT it is engaged at full throttle, same as the NOS program. Have a good one and please someone correct me if I am wrong but I am pretty sure about this!

I have also been trying to learn about the aquamist system too, could someone explain to me how this works benifits where to buy, etc?? (sorry, dont mean to jack your thread)

When I called JWT about the aquamist program/daughter board..it was like 300+ bucks for it. Quite expensive, I think you might be able to get Aquamist's seperate program/activation for cheaper. AT least I hope so....

I'm using it, what do you want to know? As the man says, it's insurance, if anything I've heard it loses you bhp... Not noticed it so much myself.

Technically, adding atomized water into the intake stream will rob power but it cools the intake charge enough that allows one to raise the boost to higher levels. Scary in theory but effective.

Aquamist is the only unit that truly atomizes the water....as I'm sure everyone knows, water doesn't compress.

memski.....how do you have it hooked up?
jason from JGY CUSTOMS is about to install it in my car. Do you have it so it comes on at a certain boost or....?
Thanks, Brad

I have a seperate water/methanol reservoir, feeds to the pump which goes to the plenum via jet/nozzle. The solonoid supplied with the 1s kit is set to come on at 0.7bar (plumbed into the map sensor piping).

DIY Water/Alchohol Injection (http://home.att.net/~stevemon/AlcoholInjMod.html)

The above is a OK setup. I'd go with:

Shurflo 100psi pump
McMaster Selinoid
NAPA hobbs switch
NAPA 40amp relay
Aquamist nozzle

It's really simple.

Cheers,
Charlie :)

ok i called JWT 10 minutes ago. with the ECU program, the aquamist gets triggered from the ECU after a certain MAF voltage. as for the price, you pay the standard price for the reprogram $595 and $383 for the first program you add, such as the aquamist. Plus you have to purchase the aquamist system serperately, FMAX is a distributor. thats approx an additional $400. Who ever has this system, at what boost does the system begin injecting water?

It's fully adjustable with a pressure switch (provided in the kit). I wouldn't even worry about getting the JWT circuit for it. Just set it to come on at the desired boost level with the adjustable pressure switch. I am a distributor now, as I recently did my buy in with them. If you need anything, PM or email me.

bringing this post back to life....

unlucky - are you saying that you dont need the JWT program to run aquamist?

im considering getting in on the A/M group buy but not if i have to spend 400 for the jwt program

nope.. the JWT module is not needed to run the 1S system.

The atomizing of the water into the intake stream has a similar effect as race gas. With the jwt system I believe that when the aquamist system goes hot, there is a switch to a more aggressive map that effectively produces more power.

Something to keep in mind, I've been pondering it, but right now it's something I'd do for the last grab for power when I've reached the limits of pump gas.

Just FYI, I've heard people have had the best results with a 50/50 mix of denatured alcohol and purified water. You guys running straight water might want to give it a shot.
