Hey alright, mine does the same thing.
Its sounds its coming from the distributor.
It only does it as soon as it starts up, then it sounds like it got bitch slapped into place. Sort of like a harsh rattling sound.

Harsh noise isn't specific enough. If it has a rattling sound, or metal "slapping" sound at start and then goes away, than it's the timing chain tensioner. If this is the case, don't worry, it happens to almost every SR20DE owner. If it's a whining sound or grinding WHILE starting than most likely it's the starter.

Ok i have a 98 SE-R with 3rd gen hotshot headers, CAI, greedy SP, and JWT s3 cams. When i start my car it makes this harsh noise. I already bought new NGK platinum spark plugs gapped at 0.045. The timing is at 15 degrees with a timing light. Do you guys think i may need some spark plug wires such as magna core?

You mean the starter itself makes a noise? Nissan starters and alternators suck, just to let ya know.
