For the cats who have the HKS SSQ with the recirculation valve, greddy type s recirculated, HKS standard recirculated and the greddy typr R recirculated, i was wondering what you have to say about your setups. Being that i would rather have the sound of my tial 35, im looking for the masses to sway me in the direction of a bov that does it job (recirculated) without any problems. I've searched, but haven't found the info i was looking for so i decided to see what the good brothern of the boosting community has to say.

It seems like a lot of the guys in here are running the Greddy Type S. FMAX uses the HKS standard racing valve in their turbo kits. And the high hp setups sem to run the Greddy Type R.

I got the type S right now, and its not recirculated. I had it recirculated for a while, then switched, and didnt notice any differenec in performance, so I left it unrecirculated....sounds sweeter :D

I have the HKS standard one, but a question. For anyone that is running this BOV is there a procedure you should do(like for the greddy) while installing?

Had the HKS SSQV atomosphere and recirculated. Stalls on rpm drop in both configurations. Removed it and put the HKS standard on with out touching the screw from FMAX and have had zero problems with anything. It is still loud expecially the higher rpm shifts. The only gripe is the fitment of the corregated tube supplied. On the BOV side you really have to squish it down.

ya, you will be able to hear it if it is recirculated as well...... it will cause the car to run rich for a few seconds between shifts and cause it to stumble, it is like that on 99.9999999% of maf cars, my VW has to be recirculated..

I have a Blitz that was recirculated but haven't got to it since I hooked up my front mount...It does stall out on rpm drops and it backfires...if I tap the gas after it blows off...serban does yours backfire???

I'm gonna sell it and get the HKS sequencial...I like the way it sounds...atlease on my friends scube

I dont understand hoe you guys get away with out recirculating as soon as i took the hose off that recirculated my BOV it started to idle crazy and it wouldnt stop so i shut the car off and connected the hose back and it idle'd fine.... what are you guys doing different for you to be able to run your BOV uncirculated:confused: .

uhh, thats because you were sucking in unmetered air as it created an open in the intake stream past the flow meter. you could unplug it, but you HAVE to plug up the other end of it on the intake tube.

My HKS SSQ is recirculated and I finally got it working properly I believe(thanks snail peeps) ;) It sounds just like the stock GTIR BOV but much louder under high rpm shifts. Under low rpm shifts it's quiter to me. I like that because I like being sleepy :D The element of surprise is half the battle baby!

My car didn't run for crap when I didn't have it recirculated when I first got it running. It would stall everytime I let off the gas and wasn't what I would call driveable.

What kind of tubing do you guys use to recirculate the bov? I was going to use stick hose from napa.

I used universal radiator hose which is like a bendy straw so you can route it easily. I tried to get the thin bendy tube stuff but I couldn't find it anywhere.

Yes i did plug the hole that was after the MAF after i pulled the hose no offence but im not that stupid but even though i pluged it it still idle'd like shit.

I have an unrecirculated Greddy Type S. Make sure to keep both springs inside and play with the adjustment screw to get it where the plunger is closed at idle, but still opens when you let off the throttle.

My car dies very seldom and that's ONLY after gunning it, then pushing in the clutch and letting off the throttle at the same time and letting the rpms fall fast.
