Yesterday, my DE engine went up in flames @ Thunderhill. Obviously, I will need a replacement engine. Another DE is an option; however, I am looking into a bit more power. That said, I am considering buying a VE engine. I have already looked through the past posts and the install seems just a bit more complicated than the DE.

I would like to hear from people with VE engines that track their cars.

1) Are there any reliability issues with them?
2) What are the advantages of a VE over a DET?
3) CA emissions?
4) Overall, are you happy with the choice of a VE?

Thanks.

1.) no. it's an SR series. nuff said
2.) it's apples and oranges. The Ve will have better emissions(as its designed for, and MPG), the DET is cheaper as far as cost/hp.
3.) should pass. maybvee not though b/c it has no EGR
