I've seen some rave reviews on the Nitto 555's... Daddy Dre even recommends them with a set of 16" wheels.
But, I've seen a lot of tire/wheel packages offering lightweight wheels with the Nitto 450's... and I can't seem to find much information on them other than on their website.
I originally wanted to get a set of wheel/tire package with Rota wheels and Potenza S-03's. But, I can never find them together as a package deal. I have seen a really good price on the Rota Slipstreams combined with Nitto 450's.
Any experience or feedback on the 450's would be great. I know that the Potenzas or great tires, but know nothing of the Nittos.
Thanks for your time and trouble,
Mark

I had 450's on my 18's. I think they might be a decent tire, mostly for looks though.

if you want a performance tire, stay away from those. they're hard as rocks and stick about as well.
The NT-450 definitely isn't a high performance tire. I ran them for a couple of years in 195/50-15 - the original owner of my car got them in a package deal from Discount Tire. They have a reasonable and audible breakaway, but a low threshold of grip that puts a damper on your fun.
I can see why they're a popular package tire, as they're cheap (cheaply made?) and look cool, but there are far better choices for less money. Newer budget performance tires like the Yokohama ES100 or Kumho 712 make the NT-450 a weak buy.
I'm a performance nut, so it could be easy to say the 450's "suck," but they're okay if you want a long-lasting tire with a tread pattern that doesn't look like something that came OE on a Buick.
Buy the wheels and tires separate if you have to.

I third (?) what JimR said. They are 'PC' tires: Push City.
If you do not turn at all, they're actually pretty good tires.
I have 2 of them in my driveway. Can't get rid of them.

Hahahahaha... I guess the consensus would be that they're for looks only. So, I'll keep with my lightweight(whether Rotas, Flik, or Kosei) and the S-03. I have a habit of second guessing myself... time to stop.
Anyway, I don't want to buy the tires one place and the wheels another... then I'd have to find a reputable shop to mount and balance them w/o charging me an arm and a leg. And it would probably cost more by buying them separately, then add on the additional shipping from 2 different places. Since my beautiful(reading this, honey?)financial advisor ok'd my purchase of new wheels and tires, I need to keep the cost down as much as possible.
Thanks for the input,
Mark
I wish edgeracing.com would answer my question about the weight of the Fliks... then the problem would be solved.

I have the 450's (205-50-15) on my SE-R, and they aren't a bad tire; but you can find better tires. The 450's are only related to the 555's b/c of the name; the similarities end there. I bought mine b/c I saw a couple decent reviews. Depending on your use, they might work. They seem to last awhile, but if you plan on auto-x'ing or anything near competitive, then I would look for a S-03 or similar. If all you will ever do is drive around on the street, they will probably be all you will ever need.
I'll keep mine for now, and put some stickier rubber on my stock wheels.
