ok, here is another question (seems like i am full of them today..)
a LONG time ago, on the main list, there was talk of actually reversing the MAF in the intake tract. meaning, take it out, and rotate it end for end. something about one end being larger..etc.
well, today, i took mine apart to clean the wires and got to thinking..since the air hole for the MAF wires to read only has one side (they are next to that 1/4" or so hole, and then there is a slit in the other side of the MAF for the air to pass through) wouldn't it make a difference to the MAF if air was directly hitting those wires or not, or do you guys think this is not a problem. its been so long now, i don't know if i had it reversed or not...so i would assume the side with the hole going to the wires is next to the filter, and the slit side is going towards the manifold. my thought would be that if this was reversed and air was trying to go through the slit instead of hitting the wires directly (since the slit is kinda out of the way of the main airflow) that it would take more air to cool the wires, which kinda tricks the ECU into thinking there is less air then there really is.
my brain hurts...
