I just got some dropzone coilovers for my 98' 200sx SE-R, and they are pissing me off. They were bottoming out on every bump I hit, so i bought some KYB shocks as a remedy. The shocks helped on most of the bumps but any time I turn and put weight on any of the front springs they sill bottom out on almost any bump. I only dropped the car about 1.5" up front and about 1" in the rear. Can anyone tell me whats the problem and a possible solution? THANKs

u can try ground control, but it's not certain it'll fit right. try send gc a coilover perch and see if they have the same spring size. u should get the 300lb rate

My Gold-line springs are doing real good, even with the shot stock springs that I have on. Anyone else here own Gold-Lines?

This may not be what you want to hear, but you should save up and get the Ground Control coil-over kit. And while you're at it, get the KYB-AGX adjustable srtuts.

Those Tokicos won't last long with your coil-overs. The Tokicos were intended to be an affordable replacement for the OEM struts. NOT a performance strut.

BTW, don't lower your car anymore than what it is. B14s don't have much suspension travel from the factory and lowering with a soft spring rate will only makes it worse. You'll only end up riding on your bump stops and ruining your struts.
Not to mention you car will ride and handle like dookey.

I thought the dropzones were too harsh. I swore it was like a 450lb spring

I believe almost all "Cheap" Coilovers have the same spring rate. If i'm correct its 450 up front and 300 in the rear. Don't Quote me though. Yo Lazaro I'm in Miami too......Are you sure you have them on correctly? Maybe you have the stiffer ones on the back and the softer ones on the front. Other than that You'll still be bottoming out even if you had the stiffer ones in front. I remember when i had my B14 Sentra I had Arospeed (I know I know) Coilovers on Tokico Blues and it'll still bottom out. Given I slammed as far as I could go which was 2.5" in front and 2.2" in the back. Its True, You get what you pay for. Oh and I don't think you're bottoming out......I think you spring rates are just too much so i think its the spring when it can't compress no more.

I think what you are describing is coil bind.
However, I would still wager good money that his suspension is bottoming out.
And btw, with a 2.5 drop YOUR suspension IS bottoming out. And will not last long.
