: Big problem with B14 crystal clears!
SR20steve 04-29-2003, 06:14 PM Ok I tried to at least take a look at the new lucino crystal clear headlights on my car today, they dont even look like they will fit on the B14, I havent got the lucino grill in the mail yet but the mounting points are very different! maybe when I actually take everything off and try to put them on it will get clearer, but as of now I see major modification to get these to work, not a simple bolt on affair. I am still waiting for H4 HID's so I was not planning on putting them on imediately but has anyone else had this problem?
plininfinity 04-29-2003, 06:25 PM Hey Steve,
I was thinking the same thing. I got the headlights from the guy you refered and quickly looked at getting them in but it looks a little more involved. I will try to look at it this weekend.
I have a dumb question though. If I wantd to use Sylvania Silverstars do i just get 9004s and I dont need to use the H4 adaptors?

If you could post pics, I'd like to see them. I can probably tell what you got.

The only bulb that will fit with the crystal clears is a H4, it will go in place of the little white plastic piece that is in the housing now. It is very easy to convert your harness to H4 just splice the wires on the existing harness and match up the ground with ground and hi beam with hi beam and low with low, its that easy. Make sure you keep the wires as short as possible and use electrical tape over where you twisted the wires together. And carbon I will try and post pics of the lights.
kesi24 04-30-2003, 09:39 AM You will have to cut the two plactic peices that stick out toward the grill its not bolt on .Its not hard.kesi24
SR20steve 04-30-2003, 07:51 PM Ok thanks kesi, I was looking at them again today and it looks like that was the real problem, because the two little plastic mounting pieces mount to the same spot as the grill does.

Where did you get the lights. I have been wanting to purchase the all amber corner lenses off of the Lucino.
binky 05-04-2003, 03:34 AM Where did you get your Lucino grille? I want one - bad (and some other JDM stuff as well).
Thanks.
sr20jet 05-04-2003, 12:15 PM Search on eBay once in awhile. Someone on there usually sells the lucino/sunny grille.
nissan_dude 05-04-2003, 03:59 PM i just got my crystal clear headlamps..does ***** know what bulb goes in that little socket and/or a harness that will hold a bulb in it?
also, it appears that one of the headlights doesnt have a secured housing (the housing moves on one side of the headlight and can actually touch the lens), prob due to the shipping. any ideas on how to secure it so that when i'm driving, my RH beam doenst all of a sudden point to the right?

I believe that little socket with the little bulb is for DRL. I just left it in place when I installed mine.
JayTee 05-07-2003, 12:16 AM how hard are they to install? someone? anyone?
martin_g34 05-07-2003, 03:32 PM They are a very simple bolt-on guys. Like someone said before all you have to do is cut the tabs off of the headlights and they will bolt right up.
If you have Lucino corners DO NOT install them until you install the Lucino headlights. The corners need to be modified slightly in order for them to fit the US headlights, and once you do that they wont fit the Lucino headlight like they're suppose to. But if you don't plane on getting Lucino headlights then by all means do what you gotta do to make them fit.

SER96VPEC 05-07-2003, 04:58 PM If the housing/mounting points are the same as the projector/halo lights designed for the Asian market B14's then you don't have to cut off the mounting brackets. These take place of the grille mounting points. You would actually have to remove the factory metal brackets on the car and mount your grill to the lights. Check out NPM 200SX turbo project where they intalled the projectors. It's in the 02/02 edition. Good luck.
SR20steve 05-07-2003, 06:51 PM I am going to try and mount them up today, I cut off the little tabs so I should be good to go. I'll take pictures and post my process.
JayTee 05-07-2003, 07:53 PM i already have matrix racing halos on my car now.......so if they go on the same then thats cool.....sounds like the corners are the only hassle

Yes and no. Yes you "can" do it this way, but why would you want to cut off the factory mounting points? Let's just say that for some reason you had to put yur stock lights back on, your grill will just be dangling around hanging on with only the middle clip. But its up to you guys how you want to do it. Good luck

You have nothing to worry about meng. Since you already have the different style housing the Lucino corners will fit like a glove!
JayTee 05-07-2003, 10:56 PM are the lucino lights the same as the ones on mossy performance?

If they are you're going to have to remove the tack-welded mounting brackets. Sooo much fun! Make sure you have some zip ties too...
