My motor was making a knock, i took it all apart and realized that the third piston rod and bearing are destroyed along with the crank. Any suggestions on what i should do?

Should i change the crank, rod, and all the bearings, if so do i have to take the tranny out to, to disonect the flywheel from the crank?
Need some advice,
thanks justin

Buy another motor.... itll cost you more to fix that busted junk.

Yea, it is definately cheaper to buy a JDM motor than it is to rebuild it. I'm once again swapping the motor out of my race car, this time afet the flywheel bolts sheared off resulting in a fubared crank. I'd hate to swap all the new parts in just to find out I measured something wrong or something else is messed up that I need to tear the motor down again and swap it out, too.

To answer your questions though, you would need to drop the tranny to dig the crank out to get the flywheel off and to get the rear cover off.

I will also agree. JDM SR20 time. The $$$ you would use for a rebuild can be used to make your JDM more powerful. :D
