Rittmeister 05-08-2003, 12:01 AM I would think that if you copy down the VIN and take it to a dealership they can cut you a new key. Call 'em and find out... I know for a fact that my parents have done this in the past just to have spare keys.
SERprise In WV 05-08-2003, 12:01 AM There is a Key Code in the door jamb area, according to my locksmith. With that code, they can cut a key for you with no master to duplicate from.
Just what I heard.
sleeping 91ser 05-08-2003, 12:05 AM well i allready have the lock out, would it be less money or something, is this going to be a lot of money to have them make a key to mold to the lock??
Cjburn 05-08-2003, 12:41 AM I know Toyota's can get their keys cut off of their vin numbers, so let's hope Nissan is the same way
FastNX 05-08-2003, 12:49 AM i got a key cut by nissan from the VIN# and a code inside the glove box
best of luck!
TRUSE-R 05-08-2003, 01:44 AM I had lost my KEY too for my '93 SE-R. It is important that you take the lock off the passenger side door. This lock contains the numbers the locksmith need to make a new key. I bought my lock to a local locksmith and the cut a new key right there. I spent about $10.00:D I hope this helps.
KEN
socalnx 05-08-2003, 01:45 AM I had a key cut by a locksmith by bringing the assembly to him. It was crazy in that it took him only 1/2 hour. But, he did charge me $110.
i got a key cut from the VIN. Just go to the dealership with proof of ownership the VIN and ID and they will cut you one for like $20 bucks or so.... with a nice pretty new nissan keyblank. Its a little cheaper for the generic keyblank.
SmoothDaddyFig 05-08-2003, 09:25 AM AAA made me a key with a code under the dash of my CRX.
He had this crazy tube with tumblers.
He put in the code , put a blank key in there, then a few snips later BAM, a key to my car.
CRAZY!!!!
93SER 05-08-2003, 02:37 PM This is why it is **important** to cover vin numbers for this very reason.

bl200sx 05-08-2003, 10:19 PM yeah, I locked my key in the car at the dealership I bought the car from, hell they looked up my papers, cut the key..... BAMMMM, new key.
They also said the little dog tag you get when you buy Nissan's
has the key code on that tag......but that was at the house, they told me to keep it in my wallet. yeah no shit......lol
they are not supposed to cut you a key from VIN unless you show proof of ownership.
