Hi All- I'm wondering, with the current (and on-going) developments for the SR20VE, would it be an alternative to running a factory stock DET (with regard to whp and/or the quarter mile)? I've been wanting to go the DET route, but seeing what has been accomplished with the VE, I may reconsider. Thanks in advance for you inputs.:)

An answer to your question would just be someone's opinion. Ask it here and then again in the Turbo section and you're going to get two completely opposite answers..... Also depends on state of tune for both setups. "Stock" can mean extremely different setups depending on who you're talking to.
I'd suggest just reading a few of the past threads in the section to get everyone's response to their swap thus far.

Am I happy with the SR20VE? Yes.
Do I prefer this over a DET? Yes, that's why I have one - it better suits my needs.
Is it equal or better than a DET? Depends. (see above)
