well after 2 weeks of push starting my car i put a bran new starter in today.......

it now starts up but it takes a little while to crank over even with the bran new starter..... and while it is cranking all my lights dim and it just seems like everything electrical loses power......

it takes about 3 full seconds to crank over......

any ideas.........

You haven't recently done a clutch have you? When I did mine, I forgot to connect the innocent looking ground that connects to the tab on the trans and it gave me all sorts of trouble.

could he have a weak battery?

or possibly high resistence in the starter circuit....check the wires and ground to the starter....make sure they aren't corroded

My guess is that your battery is weak from trying to crank it in the past. Just a guess....
