Hi all,

I want to get a front strut tower bar
for my 99 Sentra SE. I've tried Pilot from
JCWhitney - didn't fit. Fortunately they
took it back.

There is also Freedom Design ($40 at nopi)
but I am not sure if it will fit.

I know Courtesy Nissan sells them for $129

I see a whole bunch of people selling STBs
at EBay but I am not sure about quality
and if they will fit.

Are there any other STBs for the 99 model
for under $100?

The Courtesy bar is only $60 and it should fit the '98+ cars. I got a used Courtesy bar from a list member who used it on his '98 SE-R.

Igor, get the Courtesy Bar. It fits perfectly on my 98 SE.

Tsudo also makes 2 STB's for the 98/99 SR20's. One is a single tube, a la' the Courtesy. The other is made from two smaller diameter tubes. Check NOPI for prices.

As the others have said, I'd look at a Courtesy on someone else's car before you buy. A pre-98 STB will also "fit", but rub against the emissions spaghetti on top of the intake manifold. I have yet to see the 98/99 STB on a car, and would like to. Pics, anyone?

The guy says his Freedom Design bar fit well. The bar seems to go in front of the throttle body instead of over the emission stuff. Also check out the engine bay pics.

I wonder if he had to cut the left mounting bracket himself to make it fit.

I will call Courtesy and if they insist on $130 I will get a Freedom Design.

Well, I called Courtesy yesterday. Told Vince I was an SE-R list member - $79.95 for either STB. (Considered NOT purchasing he ES motor mount inserts from Courtesy after that....I did anyway though - what resolve).

Guess I'll try the others....

Ben, do you know the part # for the Lightening Motorsports bar? I searched their website, but to no avail.
