Is anyone else running the tec III, if so what do you think about it? Dropping the car off tonight to get the tec III put in. I can't wait to see how much power i can out of it. It should be ready next weekend as the guy putting it in is doing it during his free time. I'll let you all know how it turns out.

Nice, let us know. A local guy has a 240sx making great power with a Tec 2. I think you will be very pleased with it once it is tuned properly.

I installed one...had multiple problems due to TEC-3 quality control. One of the problems was that two of the wires in the harness(pre-made), were switched! They were the MAP and TPS wires. They had them installed in the wrong pin location on the HUGE plug that plugs into the Control Unit. Also it took a lot of tuning to get it to run right...a LOT. If you love spending time and money(installation) on your car, then go for it. Course my application was about as wild as it gets, so you shouldn't have much of a problem. Richard Clewitt is a real nice guy though, and he helped somewhat fix the problems I had.

I plan on ordering mine on the 26th ...counting the days. I hope its not THAT hard to tune. Im getting base maps as well so i hope that takes some of the work out. I have no access to a dyno....just an EGT gauge, Wide band and a few stretches of road

I am using it on my car (havent ran it yet as I am in the middle of upgrading from the TEC II) We run it on almost every serious car that leaves the shop here. We have installed them on DSM's, Hondas, Supras, RX7's, RWD SR20, and more. I absolutely love them...
As for gpriceynissan here is what I have to say...
For the harness, I have personally never seen that happen before. One instance does not mean that quality controll of all electromotive products is crap. Remember the FDA has a maximum ammount of rat hair that a loaf of bread can have. IMHO it needs to be 0, but due to quality controll it is higher....
My point is that every thing will not be perfect coming out of any plant...
As for the tuning I can admit that it can be very tough for someone who does not understand the TEC's methods. You can know tuning very well but have a hard time on the TEC. Once you understand it it is VERY easy to get running. Infact 2 weeks ago I was at the dyno. I met the customer there who had a TEC II on his car. I took one look at the map that the car showed up on and could tell it was way off. I had not driven the car or even heard it run at this point. I just knew the motor (SR20), knew the injector size, turbo size and all. I made a base map sitting there on the dyno and started it up. This map was from complete scratch. The car started right up. About 2 min later is was reving perfect and ready for a pull. Did a 4psi pull and it made ~190whp and A/F was right at 12.2 albeit not that flat of a line. Within 10 pulls I had 4, 7, 10, 15, an 19psi all tuned with a perfectly flat line of A/F on each. It took one run at each boost level for a baseline, the one run to fix it. The car ended up making 367whp@19psi. The car with the same turbo setup but a stock computer and AFC made 337whp@23psi. 30 more hp at 4psi less boost....
I am also helping with the Tuning on Majestic Turbos 1200+WHP drag harley bilke. This is a Nitro Methane V twin turbo bike with 160ci of displacement. It runs Mechanical injection for about 70% of the fuel. THe TEC III tunes the rest of it via two 1700cc injectors. TEC III is also of igniting the fire on that beast....
I love the TEC II and the TEC III very much and use nothing else.

Yeah.. JWT is very conservative on their timing maps. Glad to see that you like the TEC. Danny has won me over on them.. that's for sure.
