well, dont drive around with less bolts in the cross member than you supposed to cause you could end up like me, the part that the bolts go to snapped by the front motor mount, but all the bolt holes are stripped out, I might even have the cross member welded up so i dont have to worry about getting the bolts in, so well lets hear why i shouldnt, i thought about it and as far as i can think i can still do every job possible on the car, just some like changing the rear mount will be a lil more difficult, let me hear some oppinions, just an idea, i know it sounds crazy but you have to do what works sometimes....

Woh! Weld new thread plates onto the frame of the car. Bolt it back up properly. Even if you have to weld large nuts to the frame and use different bolts. Do that before doing something permanent.

you know something, i just thought of another idea, thats true, but it would hold for sure, i still want to hear a problem of why it would be an aweful idea although i know the idea of it is absurd...

How good is the welder doing the work? What if the weld breaks and you run over the engine with your car?

well they would be impossible, the motor is mounted in 4 places so the motor wouldnt just fall out for starters, number 2 i would still have one bolt on each side of the cross member bolted on..

But if it did break its not going to be healthy for any part of your drivetrain. I have seen the front munt bust that was enough to seperate the tranny from the engine. A very costly mistake.

I'd weld nuts to the body. Welding your crossmember in makes tranny and engine removal later on more complicated.

yeah thats what im thinking i might do, but it wouldnt make the tranny any harder to come out but it would make the motor coming out harder..
