it started about 2 weeks ago and at the same time my car started to backfire.. i looked up backfiring and i got a few tests to do with that but my question was if anyone here has their car just shut off from time to time, like im in traffic and i put it in first i accelerate to about 3K and let off and when i stop boom the car shuts off.. or if im in 5th and slow down to a stop boom the car shuts off, between shifts it wants to shut off.. and i also started to hear that backfiring after i let off the gas A LITTLE.. im still accelerating and its just popping popcorn back there.. i feeel hesitation when i start to accelerate in 1st and when im just cruising in say 5th and keep my foot on the pedal(i dont move it, i have it just chillin) the cars RPMS drop like a hundred rpm and raise up again and it feels like the car stutters... i tried reading but everyone says they had like a exhaust leak but i fixed that and i still have it... oh yeah and all this happens after i have driven the car for about 10-15 minutes any suggestions would be greatly appreciated
thanks

Its either a bad MAF ground, completely gone MAF, or a stuck vacuum line.

The first problems about the car shutting off sound kind of like the idle drop problem, but worse. I guess you could search for 'idle drop', 'neutral drop', 'dying while stopping'. People usually have that problem when they are slowing down and press the clutch in. The rpms either fall until the car shuts off, or the rpms dip way low and the idle jumps around. Don't know if this helps any, but it could be something to look into.

I think its the MAF, cause you can run without a MAF until the car is warm, in your case 10 mins or so, check to see if you have any leaks on the intake.

thanks for those suggestions... i think i am going to clean the egr tommorow... that guy said it stopped his hesitation and stalling... and ill see if i can get my hands on a multimeter.. i work at radioshack i might be able to just "borrow" one hehe that way i can check my maf ground...
