OK so I want to experiment with fabbing up some taillights, but I'm stumped on how to create a clear lens in the OEM shape of the stock taillights.

Nobody makes taillight covers, so thats a no.

I believe any kind of vacuum forming wont work with transparent plastic.

So, I dunno.

Fabbers, speak up!

(to let you know where this is going, I've got either Infiniti G35 Sport coupe or 3nd Gen RX-7 tails in mind)

How bout making a mold, and casting the lens?Alumilite (http://www.alumilite.com/applications.cfm?Action=view&ID=4) might work. I've never done this, but it looks promising for making all kinds of stuff.
