I had the same thing, and i took it out. bristles on the brush itself looked like they had come off of it, and it freaked me out. I didn't like the idea of having more break of, and then running through the engine.

hey nismopc i didnt say anywhere that what you said was innacurate, i just wanted to make sure that what i was reading was correct.

I think its there to keep the shape of the hose or something, iono I left it there.
