ok here is the deal 91 sentra se ga1.6 to GTI-R sr20det
got the motor and ecu with a sr20det FWD trannie ,the harnus has been hacked up pretty bad .Do I need to sorce a GTI-R harnus or can a usdm
SR20DE harnus work or be made to work ? I would prefer not to have JWT do my ecu and just use the stock GTI-R ecu for now since this has cost me a small fortune so far so any help would be great.
p.s and yes I searched .

Well I did this swap into a 92 G20. I used the stock USDM harness with the GTiR ecu. You need the GTiR harness to cut a few of the connectors and put them onto the USDM harness. Also the O2 sensor wiring is different. the red GTiR O2 wire goes to the white/green USDM, White GTiR to White USDM and the black GTiR is ground. The Yellow wire from the O2 sensor is for the wastegate control ground not for the O2 sensor. Its pin 111 BTW. just hook up 12V IGN power to the solenoid and then ground it through that yellow USDM O2 wire. Also swap the TPS outter wires on the harness.....
Check out this post i made at G20.net....this is everything that i did.

can anyone think of any other parts that I will need for my GTIR swap in my 91 sentra se 1.6 to SR20DET GTI-R SWAP
I know I will need the following
starter - I have the gtir starter will it work
maf - will a stock sr20 work ?
ecu - using the gtir ecu
radiator -
transmission - will the stock AWD GTI-R trannie even fit ?just wondering for a future plan of a AWD conversion
left and right axels - I guess stock se-r axels will work ?
passenger side/front and rear motor mounts and brackets
clutch cable and bracket
throttle cable
wiring harnus

I'm wondering the same thing too but just swapping out the rod knocking SR20de in my se-r.

-actually the stock sr20 starter will work too.
-the ONLY maf that will work without modification is the GTiR. Don't use a USDM N/A MAF or a BB. It will run so rich that you can't drive it. Get a SAFC 2 and a Z32 MAF.
-I'm using the GTIR ECU
-just get a sr20 radiatior from an SE-R or get an aftermarket aluminum one
-Don't even worry about going AWD with the GTiR trans. Its so much work. you'd be better off getting an AWD sentra (forget what its called over there) and just changing stuff around.
-Get an SE-R trans and use the SE-r axles. the FWD trans will bolt up if you use the FWD clutch and flywheel and drill the flywheel bolt holes out to 11mm
-throttle cable, make your own bracket and make it work. I bolted mine to my V/C.
-the wiring harness. use an SR20 harness from the same year and then modify it like in my post on my link. the tps and the o2 sensor wiring is the big thing.

If you get a complete uncut GTIR harness to the ecu and MAF sensor and ecu do you even have to modify anything? I'm looking like crazy to find a GTIR to swap in my SER and it's driving me crazy to find one for a reasonable price like 2000 to 2100 shipped. I tried SOKO but they don't have anything. :(

To go AWD on my pulsar here in australia you have to cut the floor out of the GTiR and stretch it to fit onto the bottom of the pulsar. then u have to do heaps of sh*t to the back end. auughhh head aches. as for maff etc. just get a new computer, my autronic runs without hardly any stock sensors its ridiculous. lol

I did this swap into my 91 XE, I will tell you that the stock SR20 MAF will not work on the GTI-R ECU, I ran into this headache last year when I did the swap, I bought the motor from JGY Customs, Jason told me the stock SR20 MAF is the same as the GTI-R MAF, and he is still telling customers this, it will make your car run so slow that when I test drove it up the street my brother out ran me on his bicycle! After taking a friends ECU that was set up for the DET 370cc injectors, stock SR20 02 Sensor and Stock SR20 MAF I got mass more power but since I was running the stock GTI-R injectors it ran rich, so instead of trackin down a stock GTI-R MAF I just had the ECU reprogrammed for the 50 pound injectors and the Cobra MAF and it took care of the problem.
Use a stock SR20 Starter since you will need to use the stock SR20 flywheel, to use the FWD tranny, for the throttle cable I took the stock SR20 throttle cable off the stock SR20 motor and welded to the stock throttle cable bracket on the GTI-R, You need a stock SR20 radiator, If you are using the stock SR20 radiator you will need the stock passenger side water outlet that the radiator hose bolts to off a stock SR20 motor, seeing as how the GTI-R one is bigger. You need the passenger side motor mount and motor mount bracket off a stock SR20, your going to have to dent the crossmember in order to make it fit around the motor, you will see what im talkin about when you go to put it in, you could use a stock SR20 harness it would make things easier, but you would need misc. sensors off a stock SR20 motor, and you would need to order resistors to put on the ground wire of each injector which you can order from JWT. You need a downpipe from JGY or you can custom weld one yourself, you will need the radiator fans off your existing 1.6L radiator cause there is not much room between the exhaust manifold and radiator, and if I were you I would convert your sentra to rear disc brakes your gonna need it thats all I can think of for now...

I wouldn't use the GTiR harness. Its totally different. Its for a RHD vehicle with everything on the other side of the car and its from a different chassis. A lot of the plugs are different which is the reason why you need it. Its ok to get a cut harness as long as its right where it goes into the firewall. you only need 7 connectors from the GTiR harness to splice into your stock harness. but no matter what your going to need to modify the harness if you plan on using the GTiR ecu.
