Is there any advantage of getting a DET with it's lower compression going with an FMAX kit? Several people have been very successful in getting about 400 daily driven horsepower out of their stock USDM DEs with FMAX kits. Is there a reason?

Water injection, C16 race gas, good dyno tuning, etc.

Doh, last sentence was just a reiteration of the first. I know a DE with FMAX is a good option. Just wondering if there's any advantage to have a real DET with an FMAX over a DE with an FMAX.

You can run more boost on 92 octane gas that on a DE! The DET still has it's limitations. The cast ring lands give after 20 psi on 92 octane!
