1) does anyone know what specific material gti-r head bolts are made of(case hardened or stretch)?
2) how much horse they can withstand?
3) and if anyone makes a aftermarket set for the gti-r?

note the usdm sr20, bb det and silvia head bolts are not the same as that of the gti-r. trust me i found out the hard way jun sent me the wrong set and i need a set asap!!

Hey jbanach i dont know if this will help but its the workshop manual of the gti-r you just have to download it and read it in adobe... http://www.angelfire.com/mac/gtirmanual/ use that and reference it to you fsm if you have it...hope it helps. one of the pages should be able to help you out .

Jim-

If indeed the headgasket is different for the GTiR, then I oredered the wrong one for my BB DET. I paid $255.00 for it and it is specifically made for the GTiR. I am checking on head studs as we speak!

Louis, they are diffrent, they have one specifically for the bb and the gti-r. 11044-rr130 11044-rr360 11044-rr361 are the part numbers for the pulsar head gaskets, I want to say the rwd head gaskets are the same as the bb ones, they are 11044-rr521 11044-rr650 11044-rr541, but I could be wrong.....those are real Nismo numbers too.

This is what I gathered from you Brian:

Bluebird/Silvia SR20DET
11044-rr521
11044-rr650
11044-rr541

Pulsar GTiR SR20DET
11044-rr130
11044-rr360
11044-rr361

Am I correct?

-brian-thanks alot for the help, good looking out.
-suckit-thanks i took a look but i can't read japanese, so it didn't work.

what i wanted to know is if there is anyone around that knows if they offer a aftermarket set, or if a stock set can be bought in the states rather quickly. thanks again guys

hey Jimmy-

If you're still looking for them, try Sam over at jspec, he may have a set of Tomei head bolts that might work. here's the url:

I researched the Tomei Head Studs and they are M11 x 1.5 Studs! I am not too sure if these are for the Silvia or the GTiR. Either way they are over $500.00. NOT very cost effective if you ask me!

I just got back in town last night, so I will come up with something by tomorrow!

wow, $500 huh? Damn, that's like retail jewelry markup territory. Hope you can come up with an alternative Louis ...

i know that the size of my head studs are 12mmx1.5. the ones that jun sent me are 11.5x1.5, they will fit every det but the gti-r.
i have a set of jun head studs in my room if anyone is interested in buying them. i paid 289.00 for them so i will let them go for what i got them for. the 12mmx1.5's are the same price as the 11.5x1.5 studs from jun.
