did a double VE swap, my friend and i did both of our motors this week, we started his up first, after 5 minutes the fans came on, then they never seemed to go off even after 15 minutes running. he used his DE thermo switch, and i used my ve thermo switch

****when i say thermo switch, it is the one behind the intake manifold next to some valve

same thing when i started up mine after 5 minutes, fans came on then would not shut off

need some feed back

AC on? It sounds like the ECU might be in fail safe mode. If it thinks the temp is too high, it will turn the fans on. You did hook the ECU temp harnes up, right?

also you may have had lots of air bubbles in the system at that point and the ecu thought the motor was hotter than it really was, causing the fans to stay on. remember, there is a bleeder screw on the top of the thermostat housing.

Did it overheat at any point in time?

both cars do the exact same thing , no overheating at all,

something funny happens with the needle, with the old motor, when warming up, the needle wil go up slowly<temp guage>, but now it will warm up for 5 minutes the fans will come then 2 minutes later the needle will shoot the the middle and stay there, well i mean not the middle just a little under the middle
i know your needle should start moving before your fans come on

Ask the same guy who installed your sr16ve cams .He good at figuring out these things.

If you have a DE ECU, yes.

got the fans to come on and off regularly, just bled the system, and it was all good

but the temp guage is now reading quarter way, when it used to be a little under half, will play with it tommorrow

use the de coolant sensors bro. the japanese ones work differently....the ecm reads inputs in different values. de sensors will fix the problem. the imperative one is the two prong one that goes to the ecu. the one for the gauge will correct the funny gause problem.

Hey I know Tim. He's pretty good, Yo i'd say it's your ecu what are you running the de ecu, 1.6ve or 2.0ve?

I am running a de ecu and do not have this problem with it. I never swaped it out.

Sounds like it's working just fine. I'd rather my gauge read 1/4 than 1/2.
