Hey Guys,
I finally crossed over to the darkside :eek: , I recently picked up a NX in need of some major TLC.

2300 for all this:

1993 Black NC 76k on origional motor
Pretty much all stock.
4 different Tires :tongue: , JWT POP , Muffler, Cut shifter :(

I got it because the Interior is BEAUTIFUL and the Body is in MINT.


Only reason why I got this car is for VE, Its in excellent running condition. I also just got a SE-R with a bad motor. So im going to swap the NX motor into the SE-R and Turbo that.

You know whats weird. I never had ANYONE come up to me and ask me if i would sell them my old SE-R. First day I was driving the NX some kid asks if its for sale. :cool:

Seems like everyone these days are Veing the NX's. I guess it is the choice because of the lack of ventilation in the front end.

Main reason I want to VE this is for auto-x. NX's seem superior in the autocross field, and what a better engine to use then the VE.

Hey, my local NX buddy Bobby had the second VVL NX I think. The motor is kick ass. And no, I am not flicking "YOU" off. I am flicking the world off! Muhahahahahah!

No, I got the car from a local guy.

This guy didnt really know what he had. He vaguely knew a little ,"You can put one of those turbos in here and make this car pretty quick"

TLC, It hasnt been washed in a while but cleaned up pretty nice. The interior is near mint. after vacumed. Im going to order some tires for it later on tonight or something.

Also, I was outside checking it out and I noticed one thing :(
the passenger side Seal is leaking I believe.

Run's pretty well, I must say. Clutch still grabs second :D This is my first NX I've even drivin but for the most part I'm suprised. It seems more nimble around corners then the SE-R, it doesnt understeer as much.


I'm probally going to change these axel seals this weekend hopefully.

They can't be as bad as G20 owners. They are the worst kept cars to buy used.

congrats - sounds like you got a great deal. Be sure to check the rear wheel wells for rust, and make sure you enjoy driving that baby hard every day!

PSHHHHHH!!!!!!! If I told joo how much gas, time, and energy I have WASTED going to look at NX2k's that are "In good condition" or "run Exellent" you would be shocked!! Literaly out of every NX that I have gone to look at Ironically only 1 has actually ran how it was supposed to. Thats the red one thats in Autotrader from VA (Mannassas). The car is a piece and overpriced but that motor started right up without even a second of hessitation and Idled dead on at 900rpm after I let it warm up! Every other NX I have seen either doesnt run, doesnt run right, has rust, or has serious problems. Im about to give up on the SR20 and Just get an NA Z32 and put a 125 shot on it! The only thing stoping me is that I know right when i do that, that an NX in great condition, with low miles, all stock, in a color that I want, will pop up, at a great price and ill be stuck!!

The wait goes on I guess *SIGH* I will find you NX. I know you are out there somehwere!!!!!

Funny you should mention idle. My 91 NX2K with 190,000 miles has an incredile idle, much better than any other SR20 I've owned, including a 91 I bought in 92 with 19k miles. The damn thing has a perfect high idle when cold, and drops down to 900 or so as it warms up and is rock solid. It's 100% stock (except for a WAI), bought it from the original owner with 181k, and he had it maintained at a family run Goodyear shop.

I *pray* that the motor I'm dropping into my 93 NX idles half as good.

Try looking for a 200SX SE-R. Those are nice too. And tons of parts.

IT Idles similar to my first SE-R. Its a little random. Few days ago when I was out it idles perfectly at 900 when it was warm. Today It was idling at 1100. Checked the cables and everything was fine.

Another thing, the Passanger Seal is no good, its leaking a little.

I think the brake MS needs to be replaced also. It doesnt feel as tight. I was out testing them out and it took a little more ffort to Lock up the front, Its a little mushy.

Check your TPS voltage, see if its within spec. Good buy. I bought my car when it had 169k on the original motor for $4800. I'm still making payments on it.

i bought my nx with 104k runs mint idles high when cold and drops to about 900rpm. its funny bjorn mentioned the rear wheel well rust i'm fixing mine this week :mad:

Greeting NXers, damn sounded gay.

I won a bid for a blown head NX for 501.00, good deal though. I have a spare engine and will drop in, but I think I will rid of it after the motor swap.
