I have a vlsd tranny that has a cable for the speedometer and I have a 93 tranny that has an electric spedometer. I wanted to change them over as my good tranny has already been casewelded and has less miles on it but it has the cable sensor and I already tried separting the sensor from the tranny and it just chips pieces off. If I get chip it all off and pull the sensor out can I use the electric sensor. The other tranny doesnt matter I can get another cable sensor later but I just wanted to use the electric sensor sense my dash is already setup for it.

You should be using the cable type....did you change clusters?

Sometimes those sensors can be a real pain. I always recommend twisting them to break the seal before trying to pry or chip at it. The electric speedo gear will work fine in the older trans. Take your time and good luck!

No I didnt not change clusters I bought a 93nx2k and swapped engines this past weekend awaiting clutch, intercooler and pipes, fuel pump and other odd shit. I just wanted to use the electro speed sensor I only chipped one piece off so far its the lil round piece where the bolt goes to hold it.

In that case, they can be swapped no problem. Soak it with penetrating oil and clamp vise grips gently at the base and twist.
