hey guys.. my right front spring is clunking.. i took the tire off and i had my sister move the steering wheel and i see that the spring is popping around in the perch. it moves around when i move it from left to right, i know it suppose to settle in, but i put them in over a month ago and they should start outta the blue... yesterday i just drove outta my driveway and it started to pop.. now it clunks a lot.. i dont know what to do

The bearing plate in the strut mount is binding,so the spring tries to stay put when the strut housing is turning. Most aftermarket strut mounts will include the bearing, just make sure before you purchase them.To replace them will involve removing the strut assembly and compressing the spring so it might be a good time to replace struts and/or springs if you haven't already.Good luck.

That sucks, are you 100% sure they are installed correctly. If so I think the bearings may be available separately from Nissan and Autopart International.

yeah... im gonna try and tighten that top nut tommorow and see if that will compress the spring a little more.. if that does the trick then hooray... if not then i will go buy the whole assembly from nissan

The spring has come out of the spring seat on the perch. This happened to me when I installed new strut mounts. I put everything back in but didn't get it lined up correctly so the spring was not in the seat where it needed to be. I would therefore get a clunking whenever I turned the wheel. Since it was such a pain in the ass for me to get the spring and strut back in there in the first place I just took it somewhere and had them do it. The shop where I took it had a machine that lined everything up perfectly and it only took them at the very most 30 minutes to do.

I'm not saying it is not that bearing that the other guys are talking about but just what happened to me. It is very crucial to get everything lined up correctly but at the same time is super hard to see up in the strut well to get everything lined up.

Take this for what it's worth.
