Went to the dyno today and was able to dyno the car finally. Here is the deal:

- I was able to run ONLY about 5psi Boost. It would not go higher than that. I was not running a boost controller.
- Stock exhaust with magnaflow muffler
- ALL runs were in 3rd gear....so the Overdrive button was OFF
- Wide Open Throttle was at around 4000 RPM for all runs, becuase it's hard to keep it from downshifting in an automatic

Run 6:
WHP: 144.7
WTQ: 151.30

You can see how, since the car is automatic, the torque converter makes that loop before the 4000RPM Mark. I've seen this on other dyno charts too. REMEMBER, these are ONLY at 5psi.

Here are the SAFCII settings that are put in right now:

Throttle Point
Lo - 59%
Hi - 60%

Hi Throttle
1000 -15
1200 -16
1800 -18
2200 -19
2800 -19
3400 -19
4000 -14
4600 -14
5000 -25
5600 -25
6000 -25
6400 -25

Lo Throttle
1000 -15
1200 -15
1800 -15
2200 -15
2800 -15
3400 -12
4000 -12
4600 -12
5000 -12
5600 -15
6000 -15
6400 -16

So what do you think? Help me out here and throw in your 2cents.

Facts about the car up to this point:
W11 T25 Ballbearing
Spearco IC w/ 2" piping
2.5" JGY Downpipe
Stock exhaust with Magnaflow muffler
Greddy Type S BOV
Walbro 255
MSD 38lb
SAFCII

Hmmm...even with stock exhaust your numbers should be a lot higher. Is that little loop in the curve normal for an auto car?

But yeah, something is not right about those numbers, a slightly modded NA sr20 can put down that much.

Looks about right to me for 5 psi and alot of power loss from the Auto tranny....

The loop in the dyno probably has something to do with the tranny wanting to shift or the torque converter...

damn that sux... autos suck so much power, if you really wanna keep your auto trans maybe you should get it built

i want a loop in my dyno sheet thats cool

I think even with an auto and stock exhaust it should be higher than that, thats kinda disappointing for a turbo car.

Is it just me or is his car really lean???

think those numbers are pretty good for 5psi on a T25. I mean, 5psi is not even STOCK boost for the damn T25. I estimate roughly about 10whp for every 1lb of boost. So if once I put in the boost controller and hopefully get it to boost around 10psi, I will make roughly about 50 more whp, which will bring me up toward the 200whp+ range, which is the norm.

^^^^ sorry was supposed to quote it.

damn seems low, people at 7psi make 200+whp

Hmm this is pissing me off, it doesnt make any sense

i have a feeling you have a boost leak somewhere. This was my old set up, and i had a problem wehre i codulnt boost past 5 psi as well. Fixed the leak, and it was a whole new car.

Yeah that thing is REALLY lean, i run a SAFC2 also but i just have the safe settings in, need to dyno tune it. Runs kinda rich but it runs

your runing way lean.... EGTs have to be high. It aint going to last long where I see 15.08 A/F reading ! I bet it was detonating and ECU was pulling back timing :P Another problem could be a slipping auto tranny. Boost leak... possibly the BOV ? I would tripple check the piping for any boost leaks.

I wasn't in the car while the dyno was happening, but during normal driving on the interestate , it gets no hotter than 1000*, and no hotter than around 800* around town.

So do you guys recommend I go to around -10 or so below 4000 rpm on the SAFC?

Yeah id go lower than -10 below 4k rpm on HI throttle. and in the higher rpm range id go to around -20. thats what mine has now. runs good. I still have to dyno tune it. I have my throttle point at 44% low and 45% high and it works, (just fixed my throttle point now and car hauls ass).15.08 is really LEAN. And check for boost leaks, if u dont find any then check again, *** it seems like u have one

Well if I am running lean before 4000 rpms....then why am I still making low power above 4000 rpm, where I am not lean?

The guy actually tried leaning out the the top end and also he tried to richen it a little bit, and the car didn't like that and produced lower numbers.

these are my HI settings
1000 -11%
1200 -11%
1800 -12%
2200 -13%
2800 -13%
3400 -14%
4000 -15%
4600 -15%
5000 -16%
5600 -16%
6000 -17%
6400 -17%
7000 -18%
7600 -18%
I havent dynoed it yet but its runnin good, might be a tad bit rich but not to much. U are still running lean in the high rpms, as the low power problem, at 7psi id guesstimate that u would make around 165ish HP. Still seems kinda low but i dunno i dont think the AUTO tranny would make u lose 35hp over a manual trans. Its like SENTRAplaya said the car was propably detonating and ecu was cutting back timing, *** that thing was pretty lean.

Well I lowered the pre-4000 rpm settings for the HI today. My car seems to be knocking a little at idle, even though I lowered the Lo settings to like -7 or so.

what was the knock % at on the display? also u can see what your air flow % is at on the display under WOT, what does your read?
