Hi everyone,

I am from the skylinesaustralia forums. I found your site from google. My first point of contact was puslar.org.au but they seem to be broken. I may be looking at getting a Nissan Pulsar 1993-1997 (ish) for my girlfriend next year and I wanna spice it up for her a little, shes driven my rb25det R33 a few times and loves it but could never afford it.

I was thinking of ripping out the sr20de and replacing it with a jdm spec sr20det from a silvia/200sx. I am mainly interested in hearing from someone in aus that has done it and costs involved. I believe I am looking at the following rough figures. I searched around on this forum and I couldnt find a part specific guide or any prices in aus relating to the conversion

1) 1994 pulsar private sale - $7000 (kms on the odo dont matter that much)
2) 199x sr20det from silva k or 200sx - $2000
3) sell old sr20de - $700 (??)
4) labour to swap - $1000 (??)
5) engineer cert - $500
6) brakes, tyres, ecu loom, boost controller, clutch, crossmember

I am assuming stuff like drivetrain, engine mounts, gearbox etc all match up correctly as its the same series engine going from and to (well i hope it all matches anyway). Unsure re: clutch as obviously there is a big power difference between the non turbo sr20. Could maybe flog in a 200sx or silvia k clutch if it fits

I would love to see some slotted and cross drilled rotors on the front but I think just upgraded ones would be fine. Also tyres would be a concern for me too, I have 17" 255s on my r33 at the rear and they still spin a bit (no weight in boot). Now this would be sr20det front wheel drive (I am assuming) with all the weight at the front so traction would be easier but I have no ideas what tyres one would put on a front wheel drive car with some power :)

Any comments/ideas/suggestions/good advice would be great.

I know where to get the work done just after some pre-deciding advice

Your best bet for this info is to wait for pulsar.org to come back up. There is a sticky in the turbo section that covers exactly what is needed to do a swap.

All other info such as costs, brake upgrades, etc is all there, just do a search for it. You won't really find anything here as most of the cars are B12/13/14/15 chassis. The swap for an N14 pulsar would be very similar to the B13 swap though, so some of the info here may be relevant.

I think you will find the conversion is a bit more involved with a GTiR motor, a bluebird (u12/u13) or avenir (PNW10/11 I think) bolt in more straight forward.

Anyway, pulsar.org is back up, so head on over there and check out the turbo section, everything you will need is there.....
