Hey guys I'm looking for a good short shifter cause the stock B14 is just too long. Which shifter would you suggest I get.....B&M or Stillen? I'd like to hear positives & negatives or each if you could. Thanks....

although i've never used the stillen shifter, i have been very satisfied with b&m. it's not too short, but shortens the throw about and inch, if i had to guess. i know someone measured it. comes with a cool shift knob, but some people don't like it cause it gets too hot or too cold, but they're pussies.

save your money. buy smc/pacesetter instead. It works the same way and it's way cheaper.

I beg to differ, I had the Pacesetter and now the B&M. I think the B&M is worth the extra money.....

They work the same way. It shortens the throw/shifts. I just want to mention smc/pacesetter just in case he doesn't know. It's a personal preference in my opinion.
I would suggest try them all (use your friend's cars that has one) and see how each product feel.
I will not buy the stillen one and that's for sure. It's not about the product, it's about how they operate.

I have the B&M on my other SE-R that is wrecked, and i love that thing compared to the stock one i'm with now. I love the way it feels, i just ripped the leather head off and put the stock knob back on, i'll post pics up soon, looks clean!

Would always recommend B&M short throw shifters, they give you that racing feeling with those crisp short shifts, much like a race driver.

How did you get the stock knob off? Did it stop the shifter from buzzing?

You must have taken the stock knob off when you installed your B&M, right?

I had to use vise grips and ended up tearing mine to shit in the process.

I love the feel of my B&M unit, can't go wrong with that one!

I love my B&M as well, but the Pacesetter is adjustable, and cheaper.

I'll have to vote in the B&M as well, driven a car or two that had them and they are nice, they add a nice crispness to the shift. I've never had experience with pacesetter, but you'll hear both good and bad. I've always followed the line you get what you pay for as well as buy the best you can and you'll never be disappointed.

A little OT but oh well: Jay, you're wheels look really awesome man, where did you get them and how much did they run, i've been looking for a 15x7 for a while now. looking good, I too have a red B14, so at least i know they will look nice :D

i had a homie who had B&M and he liked it, but I have the Robo shifter. You can adjust the height of the shaft up and down as well as left to right depending on the drivers preference and arm length. Also you can adjust the shortness of the actual "throw" to feel like a regular short shifter or even shorter to a click of what a porche does. Thats why I like it and I have had it for about 8 months now so its realible. The only catch is its discontinued and a hard part to find unless you have a honda.

Actually, no. I was able to get the stock shifter out w/o removing the shift knob.

Thanks. I got them from 1010tires.com. If I recall correctly, the rims w/ Kuhmo's ran me about $1050. But they've jacked up the prices since them. I went with 15x7 because:

1) They are only weigh like 10.5lbs each, which is about 6.5lbs less than the stock SE-L rims. That goes a long way in aiding both accelleration and braking.

2) The roads in Rochester suck and I didn't think 16x7 w/ 45's would stand a chance.

I'd stay away from the B&M. I'm not happy with mine, especially considering the cost.
