Guys, I was thinking last night, "What would a Stroked Turbo VE" Be like. I was wondering if any of you guys thought about it. I'm just curious what it would all entail. And how much power @ stock PSI on a say a t28 this ening would produce. SR20VE, with the tomie .2L stroker Kit and Turbo that beast, Hence SR22VET.

Before you dream stealers go on and say itll cost 20grand, you can't afford it blah blah blah.. . I'm just wondering what it would be like. I'm no engineer or hardcore sr20-tuner but im willing to bet it would be making well over 250ish WHP??

I would never use such a small turbo on a 2.2 liter motor. Remember same turbo with the exact same exhaust side on a larger 2.2 motor will (ultimately) make less power since you will choke the exhaust side off quicker. I was helping my friend tune his 2.2 liter 3S Celica last night and we're seing 4 psi under 4 grand on a T67 with a 10cm2 housing. Just so you know the gains of going to a 2.2 is worth the cost in my honest opinion.

Well, seeing how a stock sr20vet does about 270+hp, I'm sure 250 would not be a problem.

Does it use a ball bearing T28?

Seeing as how there are only something like 500 sr20vets out there (okay, that was as of a year ago, anyone know better now?), and none of them have been seen stateside (also dated info, I admit), you'd be turboing a sr20ve yourself. Not trying to discourage... in fact, I was poking this around as an idea myself...
The main problem is this: I don't know where you'd find the data on timing etc for a VE in order to get your engine management (ecu reprogrammed, etc).

If you ever go through with this, I'd love to see it... I really wanted to do this myself (start by turboing, then with a buttload of cash do the stroker....) Just can't afford it! Imagine that... lol

JWt will tune an ECU for it on their dyno, and honestly they have already done it. There is a fat VET powered NX out there as I even saved pics of it. JWT did the tuning for it.

The dream can live on... that is sweet. I guess all that is left is...
A sr20ve for around $2k, a reporgrammed ECU for $500 ish, a stroker kit for about $7500, and all-your-needs met turbo kit for around $4000 or so (figure you'd get a good sized turbo for that). So with the "while I'm under the hood..." costs, you likely could do it for under $15k. Isn't that refreshing.

I thinks I'm gonna cry myself to sleep thinking about that tonight.... (thanks for the update gents) ;)
