I added 205 40/16's yesterday , now I hear shaffing and grinding sound when "in gear" making a left turn... is that the halfshaft or CV, its not a clicking, and it only sounds in gear, "but when I press the clutch in it goes away"(pretty sure its not the tires)... Im thinking its the halfshaft... the tires are wider from 195's I had before... I am wondering if that causes more stress on those or that part(s).

Other than the cost is that easy to replace? Could it be more of a severe problem since the clutch is involved, or could it be the gears too? Im heading to meet up with SR-sonic to install a fullset of AGX's w/coilovers...And Im debating if I should get that the halfaxle fixed 1st. Is it better to buy used or new?

I wish I could help you more, but all I can tell you is that it's probably not due to the fact that you added wider tires. I've been running 205/40/16's on my classic for almost 2 years and they've never caused the trouble that you're having.
