: Steering Wheel On! PICS! Need Help Hooking Up Horn!
sr20sentra91 08-17-2004, 03:09 PM I finally got my momo hub adapter to put on my tenzo steering wheel that ive had sitting in my room for almost a year now. I like it but can figure out the whole horn deal...(this is on the white SE-R, not the blue one in the sig)

RollcageSR20 08-17-2004, 05:57 PM I had this same problem with the horn when I installed my Momo Monte Carlo steering. This seems to be a problem with SE-R's that came with cruise control, airbag, or both! If you do some searching, there was a solution from Serban (Fast91SE-R). Search for his name and the subject "horn button", and you should be able to find it.
atomicbomberman 08-17-2004, 08:33 PM What year is the SE-R? for mine, what you have to do is basically ground it. I have a Momo steering wheel on my se-r too, and notice there's two wires comming out for the horn button and there's only one wire from the car? Basically you have to connect the other part to the steering wheel hub adaptor itself. Nissan uses the hub adaptor as grounding for the horn, so what I did is to take a piece of paper clip and tie it on the 2nd wire connector and let it dangle onto the hub. Works like a charm.

for a non airbag cars, yeah it's okay. but cars with airbags it's totally different. someone came up with a solution to this. I'm not sure who.
On my '95, i did not bother hooking it up. it's been 6 yrs now and i don't even miss it. :D
it will always have the airbag light on though. i just removed the bulb. :biggthump

That would be Jim Schumacher.
One of these days I'll do a write-up on converting the MOMO hub to retain cruise control on the non-airbag models. But the plate is way too full today.
atomicbomberman 08-18-2004, 02:52 AM the HYB (japanese) hub have a model with cruise control button build into it. Ask JCCT about those.
Blah, who needs cruise control anyway ;)
Serban 08-18-2004, 08:39 AM I have come up with a solution for airbag cars as well, however its the most ghetto solution I have ever come up with. :D
Here's a teaser. It's my MOMO wheel with factory cruise retained (non-airbag).

I dont know....might make my reputation go right down the drain..
Pretty White 08-18-2004, 10:10 PM IT IS SOO EASY. It is called the ballpoint pen spring trick.
1)get a ballpoint pen spring.
2)get anything that can be used as a small stud. (Like a wood nail) Round off the end. Make sure that one end is bigger than the ballpoint pen spring. It it will sit on the spring like a perch.
2)There is a little hold on the lower right side of the washer switch that you can open up a little wider if you wish with a small phillips (the kind that come with the KYB AGX).
Stick the ballpoint pen spring in first then put the small stud in it. It will be the contact for the horn pad. Make sure you use a smear of the grease they provide you in and around the horn pad. Walla, instant horn.

lucino vzr 08-19-2004, 03:44 AM Thanks.
Sound easy enough. I'll give a shot this weekend.

Well, i think the b14 column is different from the b13. i can't find the thing you're talking about.
i made my turn signal work though. before, i have to manually disengage the lever everytime i use my blinkers, now, just turn the wheel and it will turn off by itself.
