I was looking for the stronger organic disks also. My best guess is that ACT does not provide those discs for us sr20de folks.

I have the 6-Puck as my daily driver. I love it! It isn't much worse than the street disc and it takes the abuse like a mothafucka! I don't know why everyone thinks the 6-Puck is gonna be a bitch of a clutch. The only thing that changes pedal effort is the pressure plate, not the disc! Yea, if you don't launch right you can get some chatter, but that's not a really big deal. To me, it was definitely worth it since I abuse the car quite a bit when it's at the track... but that's just me.

just curious, what PP are you using with the 6 puck? Also, is it true that because of the PP, there has to be some modification done to the part where you adjust the clutch cable for the engagement of the clutch due to the pressure?

I'm running the heavy duty pressure plate. No modifications necessary. YMMV, though.

6 puck with HD pressure plate ROCKS. You biznatches need to ReCoGnIzE its the only clutch that will hold MaD Horsepower Yo!

Seriously, I'm with what David said. I've had the 6 puck clutch w/ HD pressure plate for awhile now and I don't have any problems. Only the real wusses on the list say its not a streetable clutch. If you know how to drive it, its fine, just a small amount of chatter.

A smooth, streetable feeling clutch will not hold hardcore 1.8 60 foot launches and 400hp without some slippage. At least none that have proven to outlast the 6 puck on a turbo SE-R. Still waiting on that, though I think Mike Kojima is experimenting with some other type of material that may work. I wont switch until I know it will last though.

Frank <--hasn't changed 6 puck in years, including through 100 shot of NOS, 12 second passes, and 350hp turbo car

I have the HD PP with the SS disc. It works great, very smooth, very strong. While you have the trans off, you should take off the withdrawal lever (the one the clutch cable attaches to) and get a plate welded on. The arm part for me broke off near the pivot. Other people with the ACT have had this problem too. Other than that, I love the clutch.

I've heard good things about clutchnet clutches. I've got a six puck and I would much rather have something with springs in it for better streetability. The chattering got annoying at times.

What is chatter? What disadvantages are there to having a clutch with no springs? Will it crack the tranny? TIA
