me and my brother blair are in a bind. there is a lip on the shaft of my tranny which is hindering the movement of the Throw Out Bearing. it is very small but it is there none the less. How do we fix this? sandpaper? machine it? new tranny? please dont tell me the last one.

What kind of car is this on(assuming 240 by name)....if it is on a 240 you may have better luck checking the S chassis section, most posts on here tend to be fwd. Bump and lets hope it isn't the last one

try to use a sharp razor and slide it along to get rid of the ridge. sandpaper might roughen other spots that was trouble free.
