I have been doing some searching, and maybe I am headed in the wrong direction, but I havent seen anything about miata turn signals working on the nx. I have seen that the side markers work with little trimming, but nothing on the front turn signals. Anyone know if they will fit?

I'm sure I've seen something about this in another thread

there was a thread not too long ago about fitting gran marquis front turn signals (with a lil work) to the egg front bumper... I was searching for it too, but failed to find it.

Hey,
Yes, there is some trimming that needs to be done to the housing. I used
a rough file, you could use a sander of some sort im sure too. While
trimming the housing, I had to go through the lens a little. I just used
some white silicone to seal the holes up. For the wiring and bulb fitment I
used the bulb socket that is used with housing in the grand marquis. This
makes for a factory seal between the socket and the housing, and allows you
to wire the bulb so that it comes on with your parking lamps, but also
function as turn signals when you make a left or right turn. There are 3
wires that come off of the mercury grand marquis bulb socket. I believe one
is a negative, one is positive turn signal, and one is a positive parking
lamp. I cant remember the colors, or if what I just stated is true, its
been a while since I installed them. So you attach the negative coming off
the mercury bulb socket to the original negative turn signal, the positive
turn signal wire off of the bulb socket to the original positive turn signal
wire, and the positive parking lamp wire of the bulb socket to the positive
parking lamp wire(I just spliced into the wire by the parking light bulb
connector in the head lights, you could use your side marker light too i
suppose). Like I said, its been awhile, so I might be kinda off, just have
a circuit tester or volt meter and check the wires, and just do some playin
around with it. Trial and error thats all, took me about 1 hr to do both
from trimming to figuring the wiring out.
Good Luck!

ok....let me reword my question. I know and understand that the grand marquis turn signal lights can be used if trimmed. That is great, but I am not wanting to use the grand marquis lenses, I am wanting to take my turn signal assembly out completely and replace them with the miata assembly above posted in the picture. Will this work?

Its a great Idea. But without some molding it cant be done. I just went outside and looked at my moms Miata and that light that was replaced in the pic you posted by that "vent" is slanted. The angle that it is at is WAY different than the angle that our turns signals are...I wish it would work without molding though. We need more Airflow in our NX's

I was thinking about the angle also today. I might go ahead and buy them and see if I can mod them to work.

Well after you get them do tell how it worked out. It would be nice to have some more air flow....For less heat.
