: Turbo Pricing
I should be purchasing a 95/96 200sx se-r here within the next month and I'm already hungry for more power. I'm debating doing the det swap or going with an f-max kit. My first question is where can I find pricing info on the f-max kit including prices for options and included parts specific to the 200sx? My next question is, are there any other manufacturers currently making kits for the se-r? My last question is, what is the quickest/cheapest route to 200 wheel hp: det swap or turbo kit?

No thanks! In my mind NOS is cheating :p
Besides I need constant power. Not intermitant power.
brian 11-13-2001, 06:57 PM sr20det is the cheapest way to go, w/ 3" exahust, boost controller, pop and a few other tricks, you can be well past 200 whp. and mine made 200 whp on a 50 shot a few months ago btw :) (actually around a year ago, the last time I squeezed was on the dyno)
Thanks guys. I'd really like some links to references on fmax pricing and I'd also like some resources as to where I can look for fwd sr20det's other than heavythrottle and unstable-hybrids. Can anyone help me out?

1st ?
How many miles does this car have?
If it has anything less than 50-60K, I wouldn't recommend swapping out a low milage motor for a motor that could possibly have the same amunt of miles.
2nd?
You goal is 200 WHP correct?
You can easily make 200 WHP with the stock turbo components from a Bluebird DET or a GTiR DET. Both the T25 and T28 can get you to teh hp levels where you want to be. Another point, you can find used T25 or T28 components all the time on this forum, www.se-r.net classifieds and www.b15sentra.net forums !
That is what I would recommend!

So you're advising me to just swap the sr20det turbo parts over to the sr20de motor? That didn't even realy cross my mind. I'm not exactly sure how many miles the car will have on it because I'm still trying to sell my current car. I was only trying to get a head start on things. :)
BTW, if anyone is looking for a 2000 Mustang GT drop me an email.

Rut-ro, we have a Mustang GT owner coming over to the Dark Side? Wow, now I've seen it all ;)
Second;
Nitrous isn't cheating. Your engine has no idea where the extra cool air and fuel are coming from. Doesn't matter how it gets there, as long as it does, and in the right amounts. Food for thought.
Third;
BlueBird T25 and GTiR T28 setups are getting plentiful. I just snagged one for $650, needs a rebuild. I'm adding it to my existing DE, and going the JWT ecu route. Easy bolt-on.
BTW...I'm changing over from nitrous to turbo. You should look at nitrous, as our SR20s handle it very, VERY well, on stock bottom ends. You can get in the 12s easily, the 11s if you work hard enough.
I don't think I'll ever go the nitrous route. It's just not for me.
It's good to hear that you can simply bolt on the turbo parts. My concern with that is the bottom end of the sr20de. It's not as strong as that of the det is it? Where are you guys finding your turbo parts? Where can I look for motors and such?

Chances are, you have nothing to worry about especially with the power levels you are looking for (200 whp). The stock sr20de (bottom end, pistons, and head gasket) has seen boost levels in excess of 20 psi (400 whp).

That's pretty impressive. I know I could always get turbo pistons and rods from nismoparts and I could always go with a standalone computer down the road.
I'd greatly appreciate it if anyone can give me some resources where I can find some bluebird sr20dets.

You can get a Bluebird DET from anyone of these importers, Sokin international trading corp, K Wantanabe, Soshin, SR20 Development may have some, IM sure even Andreas Miko might have one lying around, Matter of fact he was selling a GTIR setup for 950 not too long ago, it may still be available. You can Get ahold of him @ 305-282-3643 or you can email him @ Moppel_det@hotmail.com.
