Dropped my baby off a couple weeks ago at my cage fabricator. It's slowly progressing (they have day jobs and they are doing me a favor as my car is the only non-Corvair that they have worked on in many years and they are plenty busy with race Corvairs). Here's a few pics of the progress so far:

Hope to have it back in a couple weeks so I can get a track event in before it gets too cold to shake the car down a bit. I miss my car. This is the first time it has been "away" since I bought it in April 1992...... :(

Looking good so far! (Viewing with envy/jealousy) :D Can't wait to have my cage install someday.

awesome!
It's hard to beleive there are racing Covairs. I saw one at Mosport and I went to check it out in the pits afterwards to make sure I wasn't hallucinating.

Mainly vintage stuff, hill climbs, and lots of Solo's. Central Indiana seems to have the highest percentage of active competition Corvairs in the country. We have had as many as 6 at a normal, regional Solo event. We almost always have at least 3.
Unfortunately the lower X in the rear is not in the budget right now.

I'd heard about corvair owners talking about how much fun they
were, never imagined people actually racing them. Nice cage!
I can't *wait* to be at the point where I'm gutting my own
Classic and putting a cage in. I can get all the straight tubing
pretty easy, but the mandrel bender isn't something I have, so
I'll end up with the autopower weld-in kit.
Nice cage again!

I had the opportunity to drive his red Stinger at a Solo event:

Warren has 2 race/solo corvairs, 1 "factory" drag race car (it's way cool), 2 street corvairs, a corvair station wagon, and a corvair pickup. It's definately a life style. The Sentra doesn't fit in very well at his shop. :)
