Has anyone out there removed the side moldings on the classic. If so how hard is it to remove and hoe does it look. Pictures would be great!:D

The trim strips on the Classic are held on with some hairy double-sided tape. Most removal attempts have been made using a heat gun and an arsenal of chemicals to remove the goo that's left.

I thought about this today while washing my car, but I'm going to let mine stay. It sounds like a PITA, and I'm afraid the paint under the strips would be a different shade of red from the rest of the decade-old car. If my car ever gets a repaint, I'll consider the job.

Yea mine are going south real quick on the apperance scale. its loosing its clear coat faster than most everything else. I think they are closer to pink than red. I would like to remove them but they do "tie" the bumpers together. if i could somehow smooth out the bumpers that have the similar "ribbing" on them it would look really good I think. sorta type r'ish with no door molding :D

If you take off that molding you will notice that the body stil has those grooves in it. Its part of the car, look at the E model sentras and you will see, they didnt come with them.

But you should keep them on, believe it or not, they help reduce door dings, majority of doors will hit that molding before it hits the door itself.

i took mine off. the goo is a pain the ass, but itll eventually wash off if you are lazy like me. i think im shaving the body lines under it too.
