Due to being rear ended recently my NX now has a new paint job. If you look close you can tell it's not the stock paint job, but I like it much better than I did the white.

blue is much cooler, not as much as red *** ;). as long as it is done right like getting the door sills and other metal things that would be showing the repaint is cool. nothing worse *** than a crappy color change.

did everything get masked? cause i think i see overspray on the radiator :D

I did have the door sills painted, but forgot to mention to do the t-top rails (doh!). I will paint them myself in the spring. They did a very good job of masking most things, but the radiator opening was not one of them.

Did they paint the engine compartment too?

No, the things that wouldn't be seen normally, like the engine compartment and the hatchbatch opening were not painted. I wanted to keep this on a budget!

How much did you pay?

I hate to admit it, but I had it done at Earl Scheib. On their Pro 3 level job they do a complete sanding of the car and give it multiple coats of paint, plus a clear coat. Years ago I had Maaco paint my 90 Camaro. They did a good job. The job on the NX appears to be as good as the job that Maaco did. What remains to be seen is how it holds up. I had a spot of rust repaired on the NX and had the pin stripes removed. With the Pro 3 job, the body work and having the door jambs painted the total come to $535. The way I see it I am only going to have the NX for another 3-4 years. The paint job will most likely look good for that long. Jerome, sure you can come see it. I work in Deerfield and live in Elgin, let me know where you want to meet.

I live right by ohare airport i just pick up a red nx2000 but the spoiler is faded. I actually like to see your car for the paint work. If i just need to get it paint every 5 years $600 is not bad. You work in deerfield i would meeting up one day to check out the paint and your ride.

How about we do a mini-meet with you, Jerome and anyone else that wants to come on Friday or Saturday at the Barnaby's Pizza at 2832 W Touhy Ave around noon. It would be best to see in the daytime.

dumb question - but does yours/others rear wipers always rest in the position yours is in? Mine is straight up and down...
