Just got a call from my friend Tyrone in Jamaica. He is selling his Pulsar GTi-R as a shell, which is much easier to get into the US. He's asking $4k-ish for the shell, plus $400 shipping (open, no container) to Miami, Florida.

would you be able to make it street legal? that would be really cool to buy shells from other countires and then transplant an engine and register it as a hobbie car, or a kit car...kinda like they do with those Ford Shelby's from the 1960's....if anyone can find a loop hole im sure they would make a killing...

No. Trust me, it's been looked into. Imported vehicles as kit cars in order to circumvent the EPA and DOT laws is illegal. It can be imported as a track only car, not street-legal. Legalizing it would be bookoo bucks.
