I have an 1992 nissan nx2000 with all options but I dont have airbag.All the nx200 I have seen in my province dont have it too...

ok they dont put the airbag on the canadians vehicules...maybe its because the Canadian know how to drive comparitively to American!!so we dont need the airbags!!!:D

Ok, I think that's true for 1992, anyway. My car is loaded with all the options, except for t-roofs (I have a solid roof), but no airbag.

However, I know someone here in Toronto with a 1993 NX2000, and he has an airbag.

He also has the weirdest striped seats. Never seen anything like them, but they appear to be factory seat material. Odd.

Yup, my NX also doesn't have an airbag, or T-roof, or ABS. Oh well, those are all stuff I'd rather do without anyways.

Duh, ok. I guess my car isn't really loaded. Like you, my car doesn't have ABS either.

I've tried the Classic SE-R's ABS, and it really sucks. The pulsing is r-e-a-l-l-y slow. So I'm glad I don't have it either.

OTOH, the ABS on my dad's '95 240sx is great! So Nissan *does* know how to make good ABS systems...

abs sucks, that is why I don't have it on my car...

hey, stop picking in those weird stripped seats, i have them too! or had them i should say. i believe that was a 93' only thing.

i dumped them because they are like black, white a gray stripped spandex, lol,:D

mt nx is stripped other that power mirrors and t-tops.
just the way i like it.

i have the abs its extreamly loud and alot of feed back from the pedal.
im not sure if mine works any more. i havnt had it come on in a long time.

I have all of it! HAH!! I guess mine IS fully loaded (abs, airbag, cruise, all which is extra weight which is slowing me down!)

I have 2 91's and they have different seats!!

My NX has cruise control, power everything, but ABS and Airbag are missing (hopefully!!).

I'm not sure, but doesn't the airbag deploy only after a 30mph+ impact?

Earlier cars sold in Canada were sold without airbags since you guys don't go to your dentists enough and it is a conspiracy so that when you get into an accident you can actually go and see what it's like to go to a Dentist. It's just what I hear, you know. J/K
Secondly, airbags are set off by detecting a massive loss of motion or speed, the sensors are Accelerometers. They only go off if you loose alot of momentum and are not triggered by damage. This is to prevent them from going off with little fender benders or hitting the breaks really hard (this was a problem with early systems in the '70's). Now say you're cruising at 60 mph and hit someone and it really, really slows you down you get to have your airbag go off. Air bags are set off by an electronic signal sent by the sensors to what is basically rocket fuel ignition primer, it expands very, very rapidly filling the bag with hot air. People actually experience facial and eye burns from the bag. Chrsyler had a problem with their systems with the minivans in the early nineties, where they were too touchy and went off under hard breaking and some very minor accidents. Just so you know I did a research report on this subject in college and have most of this info stuck in my brain. Lastly, if your airbag malfunctions they are warrantied for life by the company, by law they have to fix it for free. All safety equipment on a car is.

Same here. I was involved in a collision with a f*rd mustank, back in '98.
However, had the airbags deployed, my car would have been declared a total loss.
