Hey if you were to have your JWT programmed to run your turbo setup with your normal DE compression (9 5 1 i think) and then swap in some DET pistons..would that cause to car to run rich until you had the ECU reprogrammed? What other problems could you run into by running the lower compression but not having the ECU reprogrammed?

They only problem you might have is a little slow responsiveness while out of boost. The only diffrence betwwen 9.5-1 and 8.5-1 is the timing curve. The 9.5-1 running a little less timing so that it can keep engine cylinder temp down and the 8.5-1 running a little more because it sylinder temp is already lower because of its lower comp, thats it . No big deal you would probably never know the diffrence if someone sold you the wrong one off the street.

Thanks Andreas! yeah the reason im asking is because Im buying another SE-R from a guy here in the bay area. He's running the HOtshot kit and DET pistons on his DE. Wierd thing is he says he has the JWT ECU but for some reason he's running a AFC and a fuel pressure regulator. (kinda wierd in my eyes) Says car runs really rich because of the ECU being programmed for 9:5 intead of the 8:5 compression. The AFC is supposedly there to lean it out to where its not running like shiet. I guess there is no real way to see if its running the TUrbo ECU without sending it to JWT huh? I mean I could see what the REv limiter is and see if the 200 will go over 109mph..but wouldn't really want to slam into the Top speed governer...but that still be the NA ECU right? Any Ideas on how to tell if the ECU program is being run?

Open the comp find the chip there is a # on it. Write that # down call JWT and give them the # and they will answer that Question for you.
