WOW. Thorough website. Your 5 days translated into 6 months for me (worked full time & lazy).

I had similar problems you did and I also did angine/tranny through the top. The tranny leak was from the oil seals to the CV joint. I think by that part of the install I got *really* lazy.

I noticed you dont have the Jim Wolf ECU. I thought it was necessary for high compression. My car looks rough, but the drivetrain runs like a champ. (even healthier than my old 92 200SX SE-R when it was new)

This engine has so much more grunt. Kinda like a pitbull dying to get off the leash.

(Back to the topic) Thats why 91's RULE!:p

Everyone knows that '93 was the finest year for Classics:

1.) No fifth gear popout (not in the numbers that '91-92 cars had, anyway).

2.) Tach and speedo are on the correct sides, right and left respectively.

3.) Before the lowport arrived.

4.) Nicer front spoiler.

5.) I own one.

yea, i worked my ass of trying to get it done before school started, the last night..we started at 2 in the afternoon, adn went to bed at 9:30am the next morning!!! its a weird feeling to watch people wake up and take out garbae, and do all that morning stuff when you havent even been to bed yet!

I yeah, i had to change my axle seals also to stop the leak, and as far as the ECU goes, i still use my stock ECU, sometimes it makes weird noises though. SE-Rican also uses his stock ECU and hes runnin NOS on the primera engine.

Primera's do have a lot more Umpff if you ask me, although it wont just leave a stokc se-r, it will still beat one..mainly it has a lil more TQ. and ofcourse the super high 10:1 :D

AND NO, I LIKE MY GUAGES THE WAY THEY ARE!! haha :D

Nitpicking on the 93:

The 93 front end is "cute" with the stubbier headlights. :p

The side bolsters are softer.

The spoiler can be remedied fairly cheaply on a 91/92. ;)

Presence of 5th gear promotes cruising instead of aggressively passing at highway speeds.

I dont own one.

Bias vote... see below

92 SE's are pretty tight also, especially if they have a sr20 swapped in for fun!

Q: Which Classic is the best?
A: Whichever one you happen to own.

i own 93 i voted for 91

91 seem to have less options = less weight, the spoiler is cleaner and its the original

5th gear popout is a matter of time, 91s have had more time to be affected, plane and simple.

Stock for stock, I'd definitely say the 93. I cannot drive a car that doesn't have cruise control. And I love having my ac on occasion. I like the it looks out of the box better. I like the placement of my guages better, although I do like the higher mph that the 91-92 goes up to. The speedo is not mechanical, and it's a little more refined. In the sense that most of the kinks from the 91-92 are gone. But, it still has all the power and prowess of the original:) :) :)

It's a preference thing. If you just want to have a track ho or something, then the 91 is the way to go. It's lighter in it's stock trim and all that.

Um..NO! 92's are the best. Strongest motor, all the bugs worked out of the 91. Dont have the "cheezy" seats the the 93+ does. 92 have the cruise control, not to mention the tail lights on the 92s are WAY nicer than that of the 93+!:D

Dont get me started on the lowly 200sx ;)

Any SE-R that has:

No power windows

No Power Door Locks

No airbags

No Sunroof

No Cruise Control

And no AC (Unless you live near hell like me)

Sam

-92 with no power windows/locks/ anything :)

Wow these posts are like deziavoo or however its spelled, my car was down for a month and I had to use my dads 1990 honda civic dx hatchback but at least i had a radio, and a stick and a peashooter exhaust courtesy of my stupidity. I got my motor from nippon in California for 800 all together got the motor 4 days from when i called it in and than 4 days working a few or more hours each day and it was in but it didn't run right away because I had the fuel lines from the fuel filter on backwards. That sucked oh and a coolant leak. My motor is from a primera too but I really had no idea it was any better. What are the statistics on the motor. It's funny I ran into the same problems as you guys did but I guess thats the way it is I took the motor out throw the top in 1 peice and put it back in the top in 1 piece, I would definately recommend labeling things really good I was lucky that I have a friend in my town that has a classic it made for figuring out the wiring somewhat easier being my pictures sucked, oh and I had the help of two good friends that helped me out a great deal, they had never even worked on a nissan before and we got it running real strong. 15.5 bone stock, no nothing.

'91s because they are original, don't have a queer fabric pattern ('93s) and have better looking tail lights...

5th gear popout happens. Get a new tranny they are mad cheap. I can't wait to pick up another '91 soon...

Cruise, airbags, power stuff, all adds weight and more complexity.
