just bought a nice looking catch can from this guy "jdmautoparts" on ebay for about 40 bucks...everything was great but it didnt come with instructions...by that i mean simply specifying which is the inlet port and which is the outlet port on the catch can....im glad i bought if from him though *** he's great to deal with...anyway i was thinking that, talking about the two ports on the top of the can, the port farther away from the sight tube will route to the valve cover "T"....and the port closer to the sight tube on the can will route to the intake pipe (turbo compressor inlet pipe that's connected to the air filter)...and the third port on the bottom of the catch can is for draining purposes and can be plugged until such time when it needs to be drained....am i correct so far?...chime in anytime please...i didnt see much info on this specific catch can in here...thanks a bunch fellas...

i always thought there was an oil in and oil out or something...and the smaller nipple on the bottom of the catch can is the drain right?

roadrace engineering has these pictures on their site for instructional purposes for a mitsubishi eclipse and they're using i think the same catch can as me....i guess i could route it the same way they did....i just dont know what that third nipple is for...im like 80% certain its a drain nipple or something....ohh well

You will run the Valve cover T to the catch can and the plug the other T on the valve cover. Then run the open port on the catch can to the intake pipe (maf pipe to turbo or throttle body if you don't have turbo) Then that third one ont he bottom goes to the port on the block below the distributor.

i just plugged my oil line into the intake tube up with a plug
then ran the valve cover one to the catch can and left the other fitting on the catch can open to atmosphere.

okay, i finally installed my catch can thanks to you guys...i used one of the nipples on the top of the can to be routed to the T on the valve cover....the other nipple on the can i used to route to the intake pipe...(apparently the outlet or inlet doesnt matter)....then the third nipple on the bottom i took out and plugged it with a screw and drain when needed....also that valve cover pipe that points out toward the front of the car (used to be connected to that stock oil can) was routed with a small hose to the pipe that points up from under the distributor....lastly that remaining pipe used to be connected to the stock black intake tube was routed with a hose to the maf pipe (intake pipe)....i should be okay right?
thanks again fellas...

Doesnt the stock oil separator do the same thing as a catch can? Or does it not do it well enough for turbo cars?

i was told that the stock can works with the same principle as the aftermarket ones...except that the stock can is not sufficient enough....

from what i understand i can go ahead and plug up the part of the T from the side of the valve cover that connects to a pipe that leads toward the front of the valve cover...and also plug up the pipe that faces up from underneath where the stock can was (the one pointing up)...is this correct>?...if so i should have more oil running through the clear hose that leads from the valve cover alll the way to the catch can right?...hope this makes any sense...
